1. Introduction

PriceSlice ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use our price comparison service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Device Fingerprint

We generate a hashed fingerprint from your device's browser characteristics to track usage limits, validate license keys, and prevent abuse.

Important: We only store the hash, not the raw data. This hash cannot be used to identify you personally.

2.2 Shopping List Data

We store your shopping list items to provide the comparison service. This data is associated only with your device fingerprint and is not linked to any personal identity. It may be deleted upon request.

2.3 Payment Information

When you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive only the transaction ID, amount, and status. We do NOT receive or store your card details.

2.4 License Keys

We store license keys and the devices they're activated on to enforce the 3-device limit.

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your name, email, or address
• Location data
• Browsing history
• Contact lists
• Photos or media

4. How We Use Information

• Provide price comparison services
• Enforce free tier usage limits
• Validate Pro subscriptions
• Improve the Service
• Prevent fraud and abuse

5. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your data. We may share data with:

• Stripe: For payment processing
• Apify: Price data collection (no personal data shared)
• Legal authorities: If required by law

6. Data Retention

• Shopping lists: Retained until you delete them
• Device fingerprints: Retained for usage tracking
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years (legal requirement)

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. In practice, PriceSlice collects very little data about you:

• We do not collect your name, email, address, or any contact details
• We do not store location data, browsing history, or device identifiers that can identify you personally
• We only store a hashed device fingerprint (a one-way scrambled value — cannot be reversed to identify you), your shopping list items, and payment transaction records if you subscribe

Because we hold no personally identifiable information, most GDPR rights (access, rectification, portability) have limited practical application. However, you can still:

• Request deletion: Ask us to delete your shopping list and device record at any time
• Object to processing: Stop using the service — your anonymous data is not used for any purpose beyond providing the service

8. Cookies and Local Storage

• Local Storage: To store your device ID for session continuity
• No tracking cookies: We do not use advertising or tracking cookies

9. Security

We implement appropriate security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed identifiers, and secure payment processing via Stripe.

10. Children's Privacy

PriceSlice is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify users of significant changes through the app.
