1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and PriceSlice ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the PriceSlice price comparison service available at priceslice.uk and via our mobile application (together, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. What PriceSlice Does

PriceSlice is an independent price comparison tool that helps UK consumers find the cheapest grocery prices across major supermarkets and the cheapest fuel prices at filling stations near them. The Service provides:

• Grocery price comparison across Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, and Aldi
• Fuel price comparison using live data from official UK government-mandated retailer price feeds, covering 3,500+ UK filling stations across 14 major fuel retailers
• Custom price alerts — configure an alert for any grocery item or fuel type at a target price of your choosing, checked automatically and delivered via in-app notification (and optionally email)
• Basket split optimisation to identify the cheapest combination of stores for your shopping list
• Nutritional information and meal suggestions for general guidance
• Barcode scanning to identify and price-compare products

PriceSlice is an independent service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any supermarket, fuel retailer, or other third party whose prices we display.

3. Price Data — Sources, Accuracy and Limitations

3.1 How We Obtain Price Data

Grocery prices are collected by automated means from publicly accessible supermarket websites. Fuel prices are obtained from official UK government-mandated price reporting feeds. By using the Service you acknowledge and accept that:

• Grocery prices are typically refreshed 2–3 times per week. Some prices may be up to 14 days old.
• Fuel prices are updated approximately every 6 hours.
• Price data is collected from online sources and may not reflect in-store shelf prices, loyalty card prices, regional pricing variations, or promotional pricing available only in-store.
• Own-brand products shown for Aldi and similar retailers are equivalents, not identical branded goods.

3.2 No Warranty of Accuracy

3.3 Data Coverage

We track prices across 5 major UK supermarkets and over 14 grocery categories including dairy, meat, fresh produce, bakery, cereals, cupboard staples, frozen food, drinks, snacks, alcohol, cleaning products, personal care, baby products, and more. Daily essentials are refreshed twice weekly; household and personal care categories are refreshed twice monthly. Coverage and refresh schedules may change without notice.

Note: Aldi is a primarily own-brand retailer. Branded products such as Fairy, Persil, and Coca-Cola may not be stocked at Aldi; where shown, results reflect Aldi's own equivalent products.

3.4 Fuel Price Data

Fuel prices are sourced from the official UK government-mandated retailer reporting system and cover petrol, diesel, and where available, premium and EV charging at 3,500+ UK stations. Prices are indicative. Actual forecourt prices may differ. Always confirm the price displayed at the pump before refuelling. We accept no liability for journeys made in reliance on prices shown.

3.5 Intellectual Property of Third Parties

All supermarket names, fuel retailer names, brand names, trademarks, and logos displayed on the Service (including Tesco, Sainsbury's, Asda, Morrisons, Aldi, BP, Shell, and others) are the property of their respective owners. Their display on PriceSlice does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those companies. Product names and descriptions are reproduced for the sole purpose of enabling price comparison and are used on the basis of fair use for informational purposes.

4. Nutritional Information

Nutritional data displayed by PriceSlice is provided for general informational purposes only. It is sourced from third-party databases including Open Food Facts and publicly available product information, and may not reflect the current formulation of any specific product.

This information must not be relied upon for any medical, dietary, clinical, or therapeutic purpose. We exclude all liability for any harm, loss, or adverse outcome arising from reliance on nutritional data shown. Always check the label on the product packaging for accurate and up-to-date nutritional information. If you have specific dietary requirements or a medical condition, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

5. Meal Suggestions and Recipes

Recipe and meal suggestions are provided for general cooking guidance only, sourced from third-party databases. We are not responsible for the outcome of any cooking or food preparation undertaken in reliance on suggestions shown. Cooking times, quantities, and techniques may vary. Always follow proper food safety and hygiene practices. Consult a nutritionist or healthcare professional for dietary advice specific to your needs.

6. Free and Paid Tiers

Unlimited price comparisons and free fuel search are available to all users regardless of tier. The Pro subscription removes the shopping list size limit and unlocks additional grocery price alerts plus unlimited fuel price alerts. Feature availability is subject to change. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes to paid tiers.

6.1 Price Alerts

Price alerts notify you when a tracked grocery item or fuel type reaches your chosen target price. Alerts are checked automatically after each price update.

• One-shot behaviour: Once an alert triggers, it is marked as fired and will not trigger again. To continue tracking the same item, you must create a new alert.
• No guarantee of matching: We do not guarantee that a matching product will be found, that the price will reach your target, or that any product remains available for purchase at the price shown.
• Optional email notification: If you choose to provide an email address when creating an alert, we will send the triggered alert notification to that address. Providing an email is entirely optional; alerts work without one via in-app notification.
• Fuel alerts use postcode and radius information you provide to identify nearby fuel stations matching your target price. See our Privacy Policy for how this is used.

6.2 License Keys and Device Limits

Pro access may be granted via a license key, either following payment or via a promotional code. A license key may be activated on a maximum of 2 devices. Once a license key has reached this limit, further activation attempts will be declined; you may contact us at contactus@priceslice.uk for assistance if you need to move your access to a new device. License keys are personal to you and must not be shared, sold, or transferred to any other person.

7. Payments, Cancellation and No-Refund Policy

7.1 Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. By making a purchase you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We do not store your card details.

7.2 Subscriptions

The Pro subscription is billed monthly on a rolling basis. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access until that date. No partial-month refunds are issued.

7.3 No Refund Policy and Waiver of 14-Day Cancellation Right

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you ordinarily have a 14-day right to cancel a contract for digital content or services. By completing your purchase and requesting immediate access to the Service, you expressly acknowledge that performance of the contract has begun at your request and that you thereby waive your 14-day statutory right of cancellation. No refunds will be issued once a purchase has been made and service access has commenced, except where required by law (for example, where the service is materially defective).

This no-refund policy does not affect any other statutory rights you may have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK consumer protection legislation.

7.4 Service Discontinuation

If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give at least 30 days' notice where reasonably practicable, and will issue a pro-rata refund of any prepaid subscription fees for the period after discontinuation.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, copy, or extract data from the Service by automated means
• Circumvent usage limits, access controls, or subscription enforcement mechanisms
• Use the Service to harass, mislead, or harm any third party
• Resell or commercially redistribute price data obtained from the Service without our written consent
• Introduce malware, viruses, or disruptive code to the Service

9. Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, engaged in fraud or abuse, or if continued access presents a legal or security risk to us or other users. In the event of termination for your breach, no refund will be issued. Where we terminate your access other than for your breach, we will issue a pro-rata refund of prepaid subscription fees.

10. Affiliate Links and Commercial Relationships

PriceSlice participates in affiliate marketing programmes. Certain "Buy" links within the Service may generate a commission for us if you proceed to purchase. Affiliate relationships do not influence the price data shown, the ranking of results, or our editorial independence. Prices and product rankings are determined solely by the data we collect and our comparison algorithms. Where affiliate links are present, this relationship is disclosed.

We are not responsible for the content, availability, pricing, or terms of any third-party website or retailer you visit via a link in the Service.

11. Limitation of Liability

11.1 Mandatory Exclusions

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for: (a) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; (c) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable English law.

11.2 Exclusion of Other Liability

Subject to clause 11.1 and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement.
• We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss or damage, including loss of profit, loss of savings anticipated from use of the Service, or wasted journey or fuel costs arising from reliance on price data.
• We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from: your reliance on any price, nutritional, or comparative data shown; price changes occurring after our data was last updated; the unavailability of a product at the price shown; differences between online and in-store prices; or actions taken by supermarkets or fuel retailers independently of us.
• Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with these Terms shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total fees paid by you to PriceSlice in the 12 months preceding the claim; or (b) £10.

11.3 Consumer Rights

If you are a consumer, these Terms do not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable consumer protection legislation.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PriceSlice and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from or related to: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your use of the Service in a manner not authorised by these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights.

13. Privacy and Data Protection

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service you confirm you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may update or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may revise these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice within the app or by other appropriate means. The date of the most recent revision appears at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and PriceSlice in relation to the Service and supersede all prior representations, agreements, and understandings (whether written or oral) relating to the same subject matter. You confirm that you have not relied on any representation not set out in these Terms in deciding to use the Service.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed from the remaining Terms, which shall continue in full force and effect.

17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales. Subject to clause 18, you and PriceSlice irrevocably agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

18. Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint or dispute, please contact us first at contactus@priceslice.uk. We will endeavour to resolve all complaints informally within 14 days. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may refer the matter to the courts of England and Wales in accordance with clause 17. Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent interim relief from a court.
